https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8TLmK4 This is my Current Build

Would a ryzen 3600 be a good upgrade for me or is it a waste of 150GBP?

i just have a bit of cash lying around but don't want too waste it on 10fps extra

thanks

EDIT : also some mates of mine said my motherboard was a bit dated and i could do with upgrading to an x570 chipset or something is that the case?

You have b450 so it should be compatible. I'm using a Ryzen 5 3600, Aorus b450 and Sapphire Nitro rx580

No. Your B450 Tomahawk is perfectly fine, no need for a motherboard upgrade.

As for whether or not an R5 3600 is a worthy upgrade, that's up to you. You're losing 2 cores, but multithreaded performance should be pretty similar regardless, and single core performance on the 3600 will be much improved over your 1700. That is potentially a noticeable difference @ 1080p144Hz with an RTX 2060.
