AD4M wrote Just curios. What would £750 get my friend if he was to build it himself? It depends on the monitor that will be used with the system. Honestly, if it's just a 1080p60Hz monitor and it was me, I probably wouldn't even spend much more than 600 quid, I'd just build it myself. £600 is plenty for a decent 1080p rig if you don't buy a pre-built. If I was spending any more than that, I'd invest in a decent monitor for the system. You can pick up decent 1080p144Hz monitors for under 150 quid easily these days. I'd start with this; PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (12nm) 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor (£112.40 @ Alza) Motherboard: ASRock B450M Pro4-F Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (£67.58 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (£60.98 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Crucial BX500 480 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£54.70 @ Box Limited) Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB Twin Fan Video Card (£213.48 @ Ebuyer) Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower Case (£57.67 @ Ebuyer) Power Supply: SeaSonic S12III 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£50.47 @ Scan.co.uk) Total: £617.28 and then if you're going to spend any more, I'd really look at adding a monitor like this; uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/BzZzK...2458-c-mhd If you already have something better than a 1080p60Hz monitor to use, and/or really want to spend £750, then you could do something like this; PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (£147.59 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard (£109.97 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (£60.98 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Crucial P1 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (£99.98 @ CCL Computers) Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB Twin Fan Video Card (£213.48 @ Ebuyer) Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower Case (£57.67 @ Ebuyer) Power Supply: SeaSonic S12III 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£50.47 @ Scan.co.uk) Total: £740.14 or this; PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (12nm) 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor (£112.40 @ Alza) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard (£109.97 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (£60.98 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Crucial BX500 480 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£54.70 @ Box Limited) Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB KO GAMING Video Card (£280.52 @ Amazon UK) Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower Case (£57.67 @ Ebuyer) Power Supply: SeaSonic S12III 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£50.47 @ Scan.co.uk) Total: £726.71 In either case, you get a better motherboard. Then you get a better CPU+SSD, or a better GPU. |
