What is your budget and currency?
1600 GBP What will you use the PC for? Gaming (Cold War, Cyberpunk 2077, AC Valhalla) , Streaming, Video/Photo Editing and want to start using Unreal Engine Do you need a monitor? If not, what monitor(s) will you be using? No, LG 27GN950-B Do you need a keyboard, mouse, or other peripherals? No Do you need an operating system? No Will you overclock? Yes Anything else we should know? I ordered a RTX 3080 that should be coming this week so don't need a GPU within the budget cost. Unsure of what RAM to get, I want 32GB but thinking either 3600@CL16 or 3200@CL14 but unsure of which one is better. I know I could get a cheaper AIO just want the Kraken Z63 purely for aesthetics. Would you change anything in the list I've come up with? uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/XRVV7X Any help is much appreciated. |

PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 3.7 GHz 12-Core Processor (£541.51 @ Overclockers.co.uk) CPU Cooler: NZXT KRAKEN Z63 98.17 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (£197.95 @ CCL Computers) Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard (£218.40 @ Alza) Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (£121.98 @ Aria PC) Storage: Sabrent Rocket Q4 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (£269.99 @ Amazon UK) Case: Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower Case (£133.07 @ Overclockers.co.uk) Power Supply: Corsair RM (2019) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (£99.99 @ AWD-IT) Total: £1582.89 If you want that AIO CLC specifically, then I'm not going to change your mind. I wouldn't get one, that's for sure, but I can see the appeal. Motherboard is fine, I'd take the same if I was buying an X570 mobo right now. The only alternative I'd consider really, is a B550 Strix if you'd rather save some money and won't be utilising PCIe 4.0 anyway. For RAM, 3200@CL14 is technically slightly faster than 3600@CL16. However, if you want RGB RAM, just grab the fastest 2x16GB kit that isn't over-priced. This Vengeance Pro RGB 3200@CL16 kit will be fine, and with some manual tuning you should be able to get to 3600 @ CL16/CL18 I'd imagine. Also, I have experience with TridentZ RGB and Vengeance Pro RGB, the Corsair stuff is nicer for RGB LED RAM IMHO. I wouldn't buy the 2TB Crucial P2 if I'm being honest. It's not a bad SSD, but if you're dropping £200 for it anyway, just spend the extra 20 quid and get a Sabrent Rocket Q, it is just a much better/faster option. However, there was some extra budget left so in the parts list above, I put another £50 on top of that, towards the Rocket Q4 instead which is even faster than the normal Rocket Q. If you're spending the extra money for an X570 mobo, you might as well spend the extra 50 quid for a PCIe4.0 NVMe SSD. |
