I would avoid financing or leasing anything, simply because the interest is typically a ridiculous amount. As for the debt, they can't just hold it over your head and not let you pay it, it's likely been purchased by a debt collector though, which you can typically dispute or resolve it for much less than you actually owe. If you absolutely need a PC right now, because I've been there before, then I would check out No Compromise Gaming if you're in the US, they've helped me out in the past when I wanted to game and have something for school. nocompromisegaming.com/ |

Aao wroteSean wrote What do you mean they won't allow you to pay it? If your phone is the only line of credit you've ever had that would've done so serious damage it can take years to fix your credit rating. By no means is this impossible to fix as the advise Adam gave above this post is good one of the best things you can do if you're in the UK is sign up for CreditKarma its free and will give you a look into your Credit Report to see your score and what is doing the damage from there you can fix it. Worth a note you should not try and apply for credit more than once every 6 months as hard checks lower your credit rating even more. |

If they're also failing to come to an agreement I'd ask for that in writing, in the event it goes to the county court you'll have covered your own back. As long as you can prove you're in a position to and have tried to pay off the debt no court in the land will side in their favour. Id definitely get in touch with citizens Advice, they deal with this stuff daily and are experts in the field. |

Adam wroteAao wrote Thank you for this post, I'm with a site called ClearScore they tell me what needs fixing so far so good. Managed to pay over 450£ of debt today. I feel like I've accomplished something today, for the first time. The pc will come in due time, I gotta work my butt off in work to get more money to pay more bills and save for my goal. |

Yeah is definitely wait on the computer until you have saved up enough for it and you won't have the stress or worry hanging over your head about having to pay it off.
The best thing I've ever been told is to buy everything with cash, meaning all at once. If you're looking for some motivation/tips Dave Ramsey is really good. I had to take a college financial course and we watched his videos. |
