Last book I finished was the 7th book in the Casca: The Eternal Mercenary series. Discovered the series years ago when I asked Casca where he got the name from, and he recommended the books. They follow the main character, Casca, a Roman Legionary who is tasked with crucifying a Jewish fanatic (my man Jesus Christ), and as a result is cursed to live until the second coming, unable to die. Series follows Casca as he experiences all sorts of time periods and wars throughout history.

Highly recommend the series to anyone interested in history or just looking for a new series, the books can be somewhat hard to come by but I've had good luck getting them second hand on ebay and amazon. The ebooks also seem pretty easily available if those are your thing.

Edit: Forgot to mention, finished this one last week. Corona has given me plenty of time to sit around inside doing nothing, so I'm trying to get back into reading a book every week or two

Haven't actually read any books in a while. Last one was probably something by Andy McNab though.

I myself have always wondered where that name came from. I may have to check these out.
