I just bought a PS1 with a parallel port and am about to buy a game shark online that plugs into the parallel port into the back.

I'm looking to play burned ISO games since they are hard to come by these days. I've done some research and it looks like with the game shark, I can do this. My question is do I have to still do a "hot swap" with the game shark plugged in the back or can I just put in the burned CD and start up a game? What is the best writing speed for the game and the best disks to get? Can you "hot swap" without a game shark? Does the real disk you hot swap with have to be the same game or can it be any real ps1 game to bypass the authenticity check? If I have to hot swap, what do most people use to keep the disk closer button thing depressed so the system can't tell the drive is open?

Sorry for all of the questions, I'm fairly new to this. I have no soldering skills so I don't want to try hard modding the console or buying an expensive pre built one. Also is there a benefit to the disk vs parallel port version of game sharks?
