alot of misinformation here,

an alignment usually pays 1.0 hour of labor time, so $20 is not gonna happen, atleast here in the us

our shop labor rate is 149.99 an hour for a GM dealership.

if your wheels arent out of wack its not going to destroy your tires. but it is better to have it done and looked at, most shops do free alignment checks

As everyone else has said you need to get your car checked out and get a alignment done, the sooner the better.

Yes, this is an alignment issue. As Disc said it wouldn't be $20 in my area, I pay about $120 but I paid $260 to get a lifetime alignment (I can go in whenever I want free of charge).

Even though your car went into service they would not check the alignment most likely. That's a whole different area of the shop and a lot of shops aren't even capable of doing an alignment. Beings that you said you've hit a few potholes that've resulted in flat tires tells me you probably put a lot of stress on certain components such as ball joints and tie rods. Those may need to be replaced to get an accurate alignment (though that's not all ball joints and tie rods do).

Most shops charge between $75-$125ish an hour that I've been, I've seen them around $200 an hour as well though. Having not traveled to the UK I can't comment on price differences, though traveling though Canada and the Bahamas the US seems about the same, Mexico was a bit cheaper for general items though. I have no idea on their automotive costs but that was my experience when it came to food, lodging, and travel.

That is mental. I mean we probably have hourly rate of £60 over here depending where in UK. But Laser 4 Wheel Alignment can get done locally for £20-25. Bout a 10 minute job for a lackey.

Do mechanics in your area have to supply their own tools or does the company do that? Out here they have to supply everything besides air for the most part so maybe that's where the price is higher? I'm a carpenter but I always get a little queasy when I see they charge $200/hr per person on my jobs lol, especially when we only make about $80 of that after our benefits package.

Any update?

Has your alignment issue been resolved? If not you need a 2 wheel alignment. (Front wheels only). A mechanic will straighten your steering wheel and then adjust your tie rods as necessary.
Good luck
