Someone thinks that Sleeping is the exact same as passing out

Is there a difference between sleeping a passing out? i think there is as passing out is something your body does and you cant control.

Passing out isn't the same as fainting: by definition -

lose consciousness for a short time because of a temporarily insufficient supply of oxygen to the brain. "I fainted from loss of blood" whereas passing out is consumption of alcohol.

Technically passing out can be used as both fainting & falling asleep.

That's just me.
