Need a bit of advice on this.
Build: MSI MPG B550 GAMING EDGE WIFI ATX Motherboard Ryzen 5 5600x OC to (4.6ghz) RTX 3090 24GB Edition 32GB DDR4 3200mhz 2TB M.2 Recently just upgraded to a RTX 3090 24GB edition, i had the RTX 2080 in a vertical GPU mount however for some reason when my RTX 3090 is in the vertical GPU mount it looks like it's bottling itself, it will give a signal will allow you to to run a bench mark but will stick around 20-30fps and then turn the system off. but when installed normally works perfectly. Mount was working perfectly fine prior to installation (hence why i thought i'll continue using it) |

Could be a couple of issues - I'd put my money on the PCIE riser cable. A poorly manufactured cable will give you these issues especially when going from a 2080 to a 3090. Could even be PCIE gen 3 vs gen 4 cable but don't quote me on that. The cable could also be ever so slightly damaged, these things are fragile
Buy a new one and see where you're at. |
