I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere, what would the easiest way be to install my Windows 10 OS on my 500GB SSD? It's currently installed on my 2TB hard drive and I realise now Windows should have been installed on the SSD instead. Can this still be done without disrupting any files? Thanks in advance!

How I do this whenever I change HDDs to SSDs or transfer files in general to a new SSD specifically operational programs; notepad++, adobe, etc. is with a USB.

Google up "Windows 10 ISO" or something like "Windows 10 install via USB" If you already have a windows key, should just ask if at all for such info and then let you download. You can also buy through some third parties for dirt cheap like $5.00 - $20.00 USD. Download the files to the USB, pull your HDDs or SSDs you don't want effected from your SATA connections. Install the one you want the new drive to. Done. Should then be able to delete all the windows files from the other HDDs and SSDs without issue so long as you boot with the new SSD.

I've tried migrating, it can work. It does work, but me personally... This is the option I go with, just for me it "feels safer"? Definitely more tedious without a doubt. Job done no less though.

First, copy anything important from your SSD to your HDD (files and documents), don't worry about applications and games, just make a note of these so you can reinstall them. Use Windows 10 media creation tool here, install this to a USB. Once done boot with the USB and install Windows on the SSD which will format it, set it all up and copy the files that you copied to your HDD earlier back to your SSD. Once you're sure you don't need anything from your HDD you can format this using Windows "Create and format hard disk partitions".

You could use a program to clone the OS from the HDD to the SSD. Plenty of tutorials out there.
