Does anyone on here work in Cellular Retail? Is it good money? Should I accept ? |

If they offered you a job. They should of told you the salary. Don't accept any job before they tell you the salary. |

It depends how commission based the position is and how willing you are to constantly push sales. I worked at a cellular retailer for a couple years and the weeks my commission was good it was a nice job to have, the weeks were I was getting paid basically just hourly wage and little to no commision kinda sucked. Hours are good though, benefits were good. |

They stated they are a team based commission but I've never been paid by commission so , im just now making $16 an hr at my current job, they offered me $16.59 plus the commission an hr an 40 min drive away from me , I just don't know if it's worth taking the job |

It should be a good job comparatively and if it's something you're interested in doing. They're a big company with a good reputation when it comes to employee satisfaction and consistency.
They offer competitive rates when sidelined with companies looking for the same requirements, and generally they've proven to be a clean company so I'd expect that any location you'd work at would be orderly and professional. This differs with many businesses who are franchise owned, because each independent store's owner sets different guidelines and policies which leads to sporadic experiences. What you should consider is how high you can climb there, because from the sounds of it I assume you're looking at just working in the retail stores and helping customers, correct? This can be a wonderful job for you to gain customer service experience and an understanding of yourself, however, unless you're aiming for a management position.. the pay scale is capped pretty quick, but isn't so low that you'll need credit in most average living situations. You should be paid fairly as it's 2022 and even McDonald's starts at 20$ where I live. The money itself shouldn't be an issue depending on what you need. You'll just have to feel the job out and I'm sure your exchange with customers will be relatively good, but understand that in this type of job (other than with a new customer) you are providing maintenance and service. You will more often than not be helping somebody with issues occurring on devices or services they already have. When something goes wrong, many perceive it as a problem and get frustrated so the simple existence of most of these jobs lends itself to being at the end of an annoying problem and needing to provide a solution. I would expect irate customers on a pretty frequent basis, mostly people that lack understanding of digital technology and wouldn't understand why things can "break." However, at the end of the day, it is a job just like the rest and if you value your commitment and ethic that you dedicate to the company, then it should serve to be as great and as beneficial as an experience and a tool as anything else would be. The future should be considered as I said though, because a lot of these jobs in retail are singular in duty and have little to no room for expansion. You may find what you're great at and work your way to a more lucrative position in the company, or you may find out you hate it, but I don't think it will be a bad job by any means and it can always be used for learning. I'd definitely take the job if you don't have one, are looking for one, etc and it was offered. This could be the beginnings of something great, just don't let people step on you or hold you to something that you know isn't the right fit... but other than that, give it a shot! |

Hours are good though, benefits were good. If the drive is that far, what you're going to be making will end up being a net loss because of what you're going to spend in fuel to get there. Unless they're willing to pay your mileage. But that commute sounds rough - I did a 90 mile both ways commute every day for a year and it absolutely takes its toll on you (and your car). I think if you have a reasonable employer you could approach your current manager with the offer and see if they're willing to give you the 60 cent wage increase. However some employers will view this as cause to fire you because youre looking for different employment. Also, don't bank on the team based commission being a huge difference either, especially if they didn't give you a percentage. It may be worth it to ask them what the average commision check is so you have an idea. Honestly, If you think you need a change of scenery and are unhappy with where you are, that's more important than anything. |

that will depend on your skills and area, sales can be good money anywhere but theres alot of factors |
