I just started this cleaning job at a college, i dont make a lot, but i also dont work a lot due to mental health reasons etc.
I didn't have a car when I started but I do now, but 80% of my paycheck goes to bills and gas, which is fine, but I have slight credit card debt that piled up, which is my fault. no complaints there. but the issue is, regardless of what I pay my mother for taking me to and from work, she ALWAYS asks for more, leverages things against me and forces me in a corner like it's my fault I don't make a lot. I don't get it.. I'm short on money every week because I've been paying car insurance for a car that i dont even have yet and it's simply because my dad has covid and hasxn't been able to work on my car with me and the temporary tags expired so now we're in a jam and i have no money to cover anything else on it. been selling accounts for like a month now to catch back up and selling services but that's slow as **** and then to add to that, even if i only work 3 days a week, she still demands more and more! is every family this greedy and inconsiderate? she barely even talks to me unless its about money. i just dont get what i did to be walked on this bad |

Secure the bag, get your car working, and never talk to your mom except for a need to know basis. You could try taking public transportation or see if a friend/colleague could take you.
I'd fill up my friends gas tank once a month. We lived in the same area and went to the same school/ |

I'm not the best with advice.. but, I'll give it a go..
Have you tried explaining this stuff to her? Is she in debts of her own? She may be focusing on sorting her own stuff out and might be thinking you might be holding onto some money. Another thing, my missus had to buy a car that was much cheaper/affordable to run to what she was earning. I know this may seem far fetched, but drastically decreasing in your spendings and getting a car that requires less fuel usage might help in the long run. Hope everything is okay man! |

Buji wrote I'm not the best with advice.. but, I'll give it a go.. she hasn't worked in 5 years and doesn't do anything around here either. she's been offered to use my brothers car which is considerably cheaper to fuel than her truck, and I have explained it to her, she just doesn't care and wants money. not asked for, but here's a little backstory to why I'm in such a bind. She kept asking me for gas money, phone bill etc, and originally before I bought this car, I had money saved from my other jobs, which was about $600 or so. and that was not to be touched until I bought a car, but she kept asking and threatened to not take me to work so I just gave her cash, and she claimed she needed it for bills, gas etc. that she was broke. but that same day she came home from the store with fast food, coffee and a $110 kid pool that she didn't have when she left. while I'm the last one to care about a dollar, $$ makes the world go round and I need it to live and that's that. but to lie to me about it and be so shady about spending it just makes me so lost. I don't know. it's a rant post, so not really expecting anyone to care but holy **** this is eating at my mental health. |

sounds like you need to weigh your options either look for a job that pays more or gives you more hours or bite the bullet and keep doing what your doing, only thing that can change here is you getting more income |

Just super frustrated with the lack of options I have that are feasible. Appreciate the input |
