OP decided to wipe and install Win11. It's the best choice.


To anyone reading this in the future:

    1. Use the built in MBR2GPT tool to convert your existing install to UEFI and GPT.

    2. I don't recommend cloning boot drives because the boot record always breaks or isn't copied. Start fresh and copy files from your old drive, which will mount in the new Windows.

    3. You can almost always fix or rebuild a boot record if you break it. Command line and intermediate tech skills required. Avoid if possible.
