Insta360 Flow Gimbal - BestBuy

A lot of people online just LOVE how good these things are. On reddit and youtube mainly. I have a gut feeling that, it MUST BE, because it's a sponsored post. Here's why:

To me, I feel like it was kind of overpriced. It has some decent features sure, and part of why I am not satisfied is because I clearly don't know how to use the thing at all. I got the app to work and downloaded and all setup, and pretty much have been struggling to get it to really work good. Seems to just kind of move on its own half the time, and when I do have it under control, theres so much going on, that I don't know what really to do with it. Anyways, my honest thoughts?

I will probably use it for 13 days, on the 14th day, I will probably take it back. That way, I can get used to kind of, i guess, using a gimbal, since i've never used one, but then, I can get my $170 (after tax) back, and use that money towards a different one. Maybe more, maybe less expensive, but one probably, better quality wise at least, built better, if that makes any sense.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I really dislike how you have to use their app, give pretty much ENTIRE PHONE ACCESS and on top of that can't even use the thing without it just doing whatever it wants and not working on the regular camera app (I use iPhone btw).

I wish the tripod was more stable, I do really love how compact it is, but on the same note, I wish that it could extend more then it does, which I understand is hard to get that with the small size, but the ones that are bigger, usually come with a higher price tag.

I think that I will keep using it, that way I can learn more about general ways to use gimbals, so im more educated for the next one I decide to grab in the future, but ultimately, I don't think the quality is good enough to trust with my phone inside of it long term and shooting, espescially when I'm not the one recording myself. I think that looking for one used, like I said before, would be a good idea to save some money. I don't need it to be camera/DSLR compatible, just compatible with my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Another downside of this, is I have to take off my case everytime I want to put it inside the mount. Which, I know may be a common theme for these gimbals. But I just don't really like doing that, espescailly since I use an Otterbox Defender case. It's heavy duty, thick and really adds a great saftey to the phone. So, it takes me more time, could be a lot depending on how often I film. Just got a lot of thoughts, some very positive, and then, a lot more, not so bad, but more common general issues.
