ALL VIEWS ARE MY OWN!!

Just curious if anyone here would like any advice on how to get into the games industry, needs help or advice. Or maybe just ask questions below? I'm now at 4 years in and Credited on 2 huge titles. But its not all sunshines and rainbows like people expect. I've been a member here for a while and just want to share the knowlege/what I have learnt so far.

I applied for a college course for game design and I ended up quitting after 2 months. I was told despite knowing my way around graphics (including cinema 4d at the time) that it was pretty useless in that section. I had a lot of unanswered questions. I'd love to start again one day.

When you say "in the game industry" what stuff did you actually do? Design?

I do have to be Careful due to NDAs and stuff. However I am currently senior QA, I started in QA 4 years ago, so I manage test plans, scripts and so on.

I did however specalise at Uni in Games design: Story development.
I would say from experience, it is way better to specalise in one department, so don't ever just quit! You got this. Its always good to be a master of one trade than a jack of all in this Industry. I just found myself liking QA/Production. I have also been in backend Online services. However I like being in game, Bugging and getting my hands dirty as it were
So in short, I am qualified to make and design names aswell as write the narrative as maybe my path will go down there one day but after being in QA for so long, I really enjoy it!
