Daeyalt essence is a tool I have been utilizing for my runecrafting training for the past couple weeks, and is something that every oldschool player, must be aware of. If you are ok with afk training, but hate runecrafting, then this is something you need to know. You will spend, on average, about 10 percent more time of in-game time, playing the game, so a tiny bit less efficient, but there are some positive things to this. For a big part of that overall time, you will be mining essence mines, that are active for one minute, before switching to another one of the three mines that randomly become active. You get shards, your turn them into the npc in the same room, and you get essence in return, automatically banked for you while wearing the vyre outfit you get during the sins of the father quest. I was getting around 35-40k xp an hour from purse essence, and getting about 65-70k xp an hour with daeyalt essence, and I was using the ZMI method.

From OSRS Wiki

"Daeyalt essence is an untradeable type of essence used in Runecraft. It is created by trading daeyalt shards mined at the daeyalt essence mine with Noranna Tytanin for an equal amount of essence. Acquiring the essence requires level 60 Mining and completion of Sins of the Father. Any essence received is sent directly to the player's bank, as it is untradeable and thus cannot be in noted form. (Unless you are a UIM in which case you can only get what you have inventory space for) To trade in the shards for daeyalt essence, vyre noble clothing needs to be worn.

Daeyalt essence acts the same way as regular essence does, being able to be stored in essence pouches. However, it gives 50% extra experience per essence. This bonus is multiplicative with the 70% bonus at the Ourania Altar, for a total bonus of 155% extra experience. Daeyalt essence cannot be used in place of dark essence fragments at the Kourend's Blood and Soul Altars."

Along with the boosted xp rates to runecrafting, the extra time you spent at the mines will not be in vein, you will get around 10k xp an hour mining xp as well. You can also bring a gem bag, as you will randomly be getting gems in your inventory as well, because the shards you collect, are in a stackable form. Great method! If your ok, with not being overall time, efficent, but willing to AFK while you mine, and then train the same way as usual when doing runecrafting anyway, then this method is for you. It won't be crazy slow, and be dead content, like a lot of people thought it would be when this first released, because it doesn't slow you down to the point that it isn't worth doing. It very well is for people like me.
