I don't think I've seen any team ever move so effortlessly through a tournament as UConn has now the last two years. I'm not even sure if they've had a tournament game within 10 points between last years Championship win and this years. 2015 Kentucky was crowned the greatest team of all time (Devin Booker couldn't even make the starting rotation on that team) prior to the tournament and even they lost in the Final 4.
Ignoring whatever crazy voodoo UCLA had going on when they won like 10 championships in the 60's and 70's, this might be the greatest run we've ever seen from a team if they win it all this year. And without really a single all-star player like you typically see with Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and so on (Although this years team probably has two NBA lottery picks, but neither are considered generational talents like Anthony Davis). I've probably just jinxed their E8 game now of course, but they're obviously the team to beat at this point. |

With North Carolina losing to Alabama (roll tide btw) it looks like my chances of ending in the money look slim now.
Could really use a UConn loss but I just don't see a world where they don't cruise to the 'ship. |

Everyone left with possible points on the board have UConn winning tomorrow night, so it looks like our top 3 are set:
1. Outside 2. Lost 3. Fahlgy However, I am not sure who submitted the bracket titled "Outside". That TTG account has not been online since 2011. Per the rules, this bracket is not eligible for a prize unless the owner is known. If that is your bracket, please get in touch with me via PM or a post here to prove that you are the owner. If I don't hear from the owner of that bracket before tomorrow night's game, the prize winning results will be: 1. Lost 2. Fahlgy 3. Frog I will reach out to the prize winners to get them their money after tomorrow night's game. Thanks again to everyone that entered. Go UConn |

UConn completed their no holds barred run with a second straight championship. By far the most dominant run I've seen in my lifetime, even with being old enough to remember Florida's 06 and 07 back to back. Was nice to see a championship game where it was just obviously the two best teams all year going head to head, but UConn was far and away just too much for anyone else to handle this tournament.
Since I didn't hear from our mystery winning bracket owner, I will be reaching out to the other winners in the morning (It's almost midnight here please cut me some slack) to get the 3 known bracket owners their winnings. Thanks again to all who participated this year! *Edit - Something I definitely wasn't smart enough to just notice myself, but just saw online that none of UConn's tournament games in the last two years have been won by less than 10 points apparently. Insanity. |
