I'm looking for help with an issue I've been experiencing on Google Chrome. I'm constantly being redirected to affiliate pages, and I'm really frustrated.

Here's what I've tried so far:

Clearing history, cookies, and cache
Running CleanMyMac X (but I uninstalled it right away)
Resetting the browser as suggested by a YouTube video

I thought the reset worked, but as soon as I log back into Chrome, the problem comes back. It seems like it might have started after I clicked on an affiliate link, installed a plugin, or visited a dodgy movie site.

Interestingly, when I reset Chrome while logged into my account, it says "paused" in the account area before logging back in, and then the issue persists.

I have no idea what's going on. Any suggestions?
