I have loved video gaming since the 1970s, and this will probably be my last gaming system. I have very limited funds and want to make every penny count.
I wasn't planning to buy the PlayStation 5 Pro, but I am considering upgrading one of my PCs for gaming and video editing. If any mix-and-matching can improve one of these computers, then add a video card, power supply, and RAM. I live in USA Monitor is- LG QNED80 Series 50-Inch Class QNED Mini LED Smart TV 4K Processor Smart Flat Screen TV for Gaming with Magic Remote AI-Powered 50QNED80URA, 2023 . I play mostly openworld games and FPS's. What is the best I can achieve without using water cooling? Here are some short questions: What is the best video card I can get based on my current setup? Should I add more RAM, or is the RAM I have already outdated? I am willing to spend between $600 and $1000. I would really like to experience the best in computer gaming, but that seems out of my reach. Thank you for any help you can provide. I have two computer builds. One was way back in 2018 (I had more money to buy latest hardware). 2nd build was in 2022 and I had a lot less money. Both computers are running win 11 2022 build ntel Core i5-11600K Desktop be quiet! There are a few ways this could go personally i would stick with the 11th gen chipset, grab an i7/i9 for cheap on the used market. Get a decent 40 series card for lower prices when the 50 series hits.
Though filling out the information over in this post would help us help you a lot more. |

My editing is stil restricted so I added the needed info here.
What is your budget and currency? I don't know. Funds are limited but I generally like to go for the middle of the road. Not the most expensive and not the cheapest. What will you use the PC for? Video editing and gaming. Do you need a monitor? No If not, what monitor(s) will you be using? 4K LG Gaming TV Do you need a keyboard, mouse, or other peripherals? Nope Do you need an operating system? Win 11 Will you overclock? I would like to learn how. I never did a water cooled system if that will be needed to overclock. Anything else we should know? You're the best Requesting upgrade advice How much do you want to spend on the upgrade? I don't want it to be obsolete tomorrow. What is your goal for the upgrade? Video editing and gaming with nice to look at graphics in the open world games. ty |

What are your thoughts on the 50 series? I've read mixed reviews. It features only 12 GB of VRAM, but it's faster and appears to be less demanding on the system. |

I think it would probably be worth trying to sell a load of parts to get some money back, then put that extra money towards your upgrades. Prioritise a GPU upgrade, but after that, if you could squeeze a socket upgrade to AM5 in, that would be a good idea. Alternatively, AM4 would still be a decent move and let you re-use your RAM. Again though, I would prioritise getting the best GPU you can with the Z590 motherboard and the i5, or maybe an i7/i9 if you can find one cheap enough.
50 series GPU's haven't launched yet so no one can be sure, but I honestly wouldn't be expecting much. I'd personally go with an AMD RX 7800XT or 7900XT/XTX if I was considering buying a GPU right now. If you want to stick with NVidia though, just buy the most expensive card you can justifiably afford. |
