Not sure it's smart to base your own livelihood on modding of games to make a living.

Region is key here... I remember back in the day I had a guy that used to grind OSRS and he was miles cheaper than anyone else because he was based in Malaysia and a exceptionally high salary there is like 1.7k GBP a month so he was making an absolute fortune from a regional aspect.

Debated on responding to this.

While I don't entirely disagree with what you said, I do disagree and feel the urge to call out something that is blatantly obvious.

Greed.
  • Greed has and will forever plague the modding community.
    • Sure your shop might've done rounds one year and it's stagnant the next because of yoloswag420xxxlegit20202020's generic copy paste shop. That doesn't mean you can't adapt, change the wording in your shop, less abrasiveness.
  • Be a little more clear on current services (similar to how you branded the OG cods).
  • Hit someone up for a storefront graphic as opposed to using just a thread.

Most of this was avoidable but ranting about something that has been happening for 5+ years now isn't solving much.

I'm sure this will piss a few people off but realistically it's what has and will continue to happen on here. it's not the same it was 8+ years ago anymore

Imagine that....broke kids complaining about their little video game cheats not selling. Greedy mfs mad that other greedy mfs are being greedy.

People leak tools and methods for the entire purpose of putting people like you out of business, like that's the whole point. There's a handful of people actually doing the work and the rest are just leaches with some sense of entitlement because they sucked the right person off.

Designers right now are dying for any kind of service to people.

The main issue is that most aren't willing to compensate me fairly for the time and effort I put in. I can dedicate 9 to 12 hours crafting a "fresh and attractive" style with all the specific details they request--though that's not always possible. Or at least, I try to make it look good. Yet, I end up selling it for around $40 to $50. I would really love for graphic design to be my sole profession, but unfortunately, it often just isn't practical aNymore

That's also down to how many sales they make too being that it's saturated af my guess is... not many.

i mean, i bought the bot lobby tool from XeCore to do my own lobbies to reach dark matter, i just got sick of waiting in queues or the hoster not taking orders cause of the length of the queue.. so i decided to try the tool XeCore made.. i host only for myself and friends, i thought about hosting but i dont want to just cause, i dont want to deal with trying to keep up with other hosters prices, as well as if i get so many orders that i just cant keep up with.. i also thought about offering my hosting ability to other hosters to help them service more clients.. i would ask for a little bit obviously, but i dont know.. i do know i dont plan on hosting cause i will leave it to the professionals..

like i said, i thought about it just to kind of make my money back from buying the tool but its a meh type of thing.. i might get another month if it is working well when my month is up just cause its also fun to kind of host and hang out with a friend or 2 and chill lol..

but i totally see where you are coming from.. i bet it is frustrating, people see easy money and go for it.. i do respect those who invested in the hardware and actually have been doing this for awhile, TopFroBots, BossServices and BrownMagician are 3 hosters i have purchased from before the tool.. like i said, i just got sick of waiting in queue cause there was a couple times where i had to go to bed cause the queue was 8 hours or so and i had work the next day lol but i feel what you are saying haha
