YouTubers promoted their own CS:GO gambling site without disclosure

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive gambling melodrama deepens with revelation of YouTubers involvement in CS:GO gambling site.

Valve has recently come under fire for running an “illegal online gambling market,” with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and the controversy continues with Trevor “TmarTn” Martin and Tom “ProSyndicate” Cassell promoting CS:GO skin gambling site CSGOlotto without disclosing the fact that they own it.

The discovery was made by YouTuber HonorTheCall, who found out that Martin is the director of the site, while Cassell is the vice president.

The pair are claiming that their involvement has never been hidden from their audience, but h3h3 Productions’ research team found no mention in either YouTuber’s videos – or the accompanying descriptions – that they were owners of the site.

Martin has insisted that he wasn’t affiliated with the site when he initially began promoting it, but the company charter shown in the video above makes it quite clear that he’s telling porkies.

Another issue is that there are no age restrictions on what is essentially a gambling site.

Failing to disclose their involvement with the company is in violation of YouTube’s guidelines, and despite retroactively amending their video descriptions to state their interest, we’ve yet to see whether or not YouTube are going to act on this.

Take a look at the video for a more detailed description of how it all went down.

1989 I honestly don't see why people see this as a bad thing.

Probably because it is shady and illegal.

Did you watch the video on this page? It explains that he updated his descriptions. Also the minimum gambling age on their site is 13 years old which is illegal (minimum is 18 or 21 depending on where you live).

Pretty sure the FTC will get them for millions and all CSGO gambling sites will be shut down. Will be surprised if a class-action lawsuit comes out of the dirt and people get the money they've spent on the sites back.

This whole situation is shady. Whether or not they rigged the bets for them to win or saw the outcome and won illegitimately, we may never know. But the fact that they were betting on their site and promoting it, not letting others know they were the owner(s) is very sketchy. If they would have just announced the website and claimed it was theirs, none of this would be a problem. But now we have to question if they new the outcome of every bet they placed to win. Something similar happened where the owner of a site was in contact with a pretty big CS:GO streamer, m0E, and the owner would tell m0E what to bet on in order for him to win. I do hope these two get in some sort of trouble for this.

Sega YouTube won't do anything, they're too big. Another instance where the big boys are free to do what they want yet the small timers would get hit hard. Wonder if the system is rigged in their favour.. this could be interesting.

It's not what YouTube will do, it's what the law will do.
