Google Chrome to begin blocking Flash in September

4.6
Google is now looking to kill off support for Flash by the end of this year. In a Google blog post, the company said, "going forward, Chrome will de-emphasize Flash in favor of HTML5."

"Today, more than 90% of Flash on the web loads behind the scenes to support things like page analytics." As a result of this, it slows down the browser.

Starting in September, Chrome 53 will begin to block Flash. Then in December, Chrome 55 will make HTML5 the default experience, except for sites which only support Flash. For those, you’ll be prompted to enable Flash when you first visit the site. As a result, you will be able to see improvements in loading times and efficiency.

Pretty excited to be honest. HTML5 makes every website I've been on so much smoother.
