Xbox Live shuts down 'Fort Gay' gamer plus Stepto ripping on thetechgame

Microsoft Corp. and Xbox Live are apologizing to a small West Virginia town and a 26-year-old gamer accused of violating the online gaming service's code of conduct by declaring he's from Fort Gay.

The town is real and its name has been Fort Gay since 1932. But Seattle-based Microsoft and the Xbox Live enforcement team wouldn't take Josh Moore's word for it.

They suspended his gaming privileges for a few days last week until he could convince them his Wayne County hometown is real.

Xbox Live chief enforcement officer Stephen Toulouse acknowledges the agent reviewing a fellow gamer's complaint against Moore made a mistake.

He says keeping up with slang and policing Xbox Live for offensive language is challenging, but mistakes in judgment are rare.

wow. That guy was a badass. He was making fun of modders thinking Microsoft would always win in the end. "ZOMG dont join the lobby i got banned!!" Guess what, microsoft is too stupid to ban people in the lobby. They can only find the hosts. Oh yeah and he forgot to mention what comes next - falshing a new keyvault. "Hey Microsoft, IM BACK!!"

What else can parents do to get help with video game purchase decisions?

ESRB ratings are an excellent source for guidance and information about game content, but we also encourage parents to go beyond the ratings and do their own research about the games they or their children are considering for purchase or rental.



Basically saying, our rating are only a warning, not a must follow rule. Microsoft cant and will not ban anyone because of there age.
