Red Dead Redemption 2 Could Sell 15 Million Copies

Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t even a day old in its announcement and it’s already projected to be a major success. Whether you disagree or not on whether it should include online play, research firm Cowen & Company believes it could sell at least 15 million units and that the multiplayer component will lead it to further success.

The firm noted that this number may be “conservative” since the Red Dead Redemption name has been “grow[ing] in stature over the years” thanks to glowing critical and fan reception. The first game managed to sell 13 million copies as of February 2012. Couple that with the success of Grand Theft Auto 5, which has shipped 65 million unites and is evidence of “increased concentration of unit sales in top titles since Red Dead Redemption’s release in 2010″ according to Cowen.

You can also expect Red Dead Redemption 2 to bring in more money aside from the initial unit sales thanks to the online experience. Whether this will be similar to Grand Theft Auto Online’s ability to purchase GTA$ with real world money remains to be seen but Rockstar stands to make a mint regardless.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out in Fall 2017 for Xbox One and PS4.

Hopefully it will stay popular and actually be decent. Need a game that's sort of different because FIFA and call of duty are becoming very boring and repetitive

I'm not going to lie. I love Grand Theft Auto and a lot of Rockstar's games. But I wasn't a big fan of RDR. I had a lot of friends that played it, but I mainly just stuck to Halo at the time.

Going to be giving this a chance and hopefully will like it a lot more this time around.

i vote for red dead garlic bread thats funny but i feel they should remaster the original give gamers a chance to try red dead revolver and if rdr fans own all the dlcs and look at the unlocked characters ull see a bunch of stuff that says red dead revolver so it wasnt forgoten about or not part of the series since it was included in rdr

Best explanation of this is how demon souls was the first game and dark souls was the sequel. There's now been multiple dark souls games all under the title of dark souls. It works for RDR but personally I wished it to be Red Dead Revenge or Red Dead Garlic Bread.
