PewDiePie hits 50 million subscribers, deleting his channel tomorrow

YouTube’s most popular channel, PewDiePie, hit a new milestone today, crossing 50 million subscribers. Earlier this week, in a rant about how changes to the service were costing him views, PewDiePie promised to delete his channel when he hit this milestone. In a tweet today, he said the end will arrive at noon (5PM GMT) tomorrow.

Promising to delete your channel, like announcing that you’ve decided to quit YouTube, or cancel your vlog, is not something most creators follow through on, at least not for good. But as PewDiePie put it, “complaining about YouTube gets you views.” It’s a populist punching bag that creators are only to happy to take advantage of when they are looking for a headline that will cut through the clickbait.

Lood He should delete it and post on another site instead, he'd be making less money but that doesn't matter to him at this point anyways. Also it would be a huge blow to YouTube's daily view count, or at least a massive FU. YouTube has needed that for some time now.


It really wouldn't I posted on here before but Pewdiepie isn't the majority of youtube's income so they won't care.


Pewd alone might not be the main source, but when hundreds of the 20+ Mill accounts are getting De-monetized due to simple rules that haven't been enforced until now..Then they'll feel the blow. Even Pewd would make their graph line drop a little alone. Not a lot, but they'll notice it at a board meeting when they go over the next Quarter.

Since the start of this all whore shit about him deleting his channel i didn't even believed any second of it. He would just delete 6-7 years of hard work also he doesn't have the guts to do it. Why people are so stupid this days and believe in that.
