Melee Weapons & Reticles Coming to Modern Warfare Remastered

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered’s massive holiday update, which sees the introduction of the shooter’s remaining six maps, will also include new melee weapons, customisable reticles and “weapon kits”.

The news comes via a number of prominent streamers and YouTube users, who have been granted early access to the game’s December patch by publisher Activision.

While these users have not intentionally being showing off the game’s long-rumoured melee weapons, eye-eagled viewers noticed items such as shovels and swords appearing in their kill feeds.

Furthermore, users also spotted that new options, including reticle and ‘kit’ – thought to be a weapon cosmetic change – have been added to the FPS’s Create-A-Class menu.

According to YouTuber user TmarTn, the update will also include a number of festive camos.

Modern Warfare Remastered’s holiday update is slated to release on Tuesday (December 13).

I don't understand why everyone is bitching about this.... it doesn't do anything to the game besides add more variety. Calm down and go to your safe space. Everything will be ok.

Melee weapons would be cool, it doesn't effect the game in anyway. Although i doubt they are just going to hand everyone all the Melee weapons and instead bring them through supply drops. Then they will probably add the rumored mw2 guns later which will ruin it.

I love how I told all my friends this would happen and look at that it did. Thank god I never bought this game as the game is slowly changing over time. - Leave a game alone when there is no need to change anything.


i don't quite think they would be adding a specialist. I watched people play and they still had grenades. I feel as though its just the logo to whoever ended up taking the screenshots.


LMFAO, yeah, the pictures were taken from a youtube video, that emblem in the bottom right is the youtubers logo overlayed onto the video

bsm Should've left knifing as the only melee weapon. I don't mind it as a weapon but its a shitty addition to a game like this.


Then you have never played the original cod4 and waw. The melee isn't an addition it's just the basic melee that is old school players dealt with. Go back playing your aw, bo3, and iw of your gonna complain about an awesome game.


I started with WaW mate. I just don't see the need to add addition weapons no one particularly wants. Leave it at camos, don't add new weapons.
