The real reason Black Ops II isn’t on Xbox backward compatibility

Xbox Chief Phil Spencer reminded gamers that Xbox doesn’t solely control which games come to backward compatibility.

Gamers have been crying out for Call of Duty: Black Ops II to come to the Xbox One’s backward compatibility program, their requests seemingly falling on deaf ears. Nearly 200,000 votes have been cast on Microsoft’s website to bring the title to the program, but to no avail. However, when “XboxIsBestBox” and numerous other social media users tweeted at Spencer, it must’ve broken the Xbox Chief’s heart a little bit. He responded by unloading some truth regarding backward compatibility.

So, it looks like fans of the series should turn their attention towards Activision in this case.

It's the publisher of the game. Not xbox.

People don't care. They know that Xbox isn't going to respond on Twitter so they might as well spam publishers.

From the start people should've known it's not Xbox's decision to put games into BC given that there's no obstacles. Doesn't work like that and Phil stated this months ago. It's up to the developers and/or producers to allow these titles to be on BC. Why a company would hold their game from touching BC I have no clue. I'd assume it'd bring more money in but hmm, who knows. Most likely due to the good assumption that big companies like Activision and such want to add these games into bonus bundles to bring more money. Or perhaps they feel no reason to put it in BC because they wanna make a remastered version.

Not up to xbox, solely up to activision, treyarch, raven software and sledgehammer games to decide whether their game will be put forward for BC. However we all know how money hungry activision is, so they are likely to create a catch e.g remaster with supply drops or buying special editions of their games to recieve the old one :/

They need to release Call Of Duty: Remastered that includes every cod but remastered and the seasons pass gets you every dlc :)

I never understood why so many people liked BO2, It found it so boring to play. At first, I enjoyed it but not too long after I stopped liking it. I would only play it if friends asked me too and even then I didn't find myself liking it.
