Nioh takes us right back to Team Ninja’s action roots by way of From Software. Is the world ready for it?

Hardly anybody else bothered turning up this week, and that’s not surprising: Nioh is a pretty big deal. A PS4 exclusive, it has a lot in common with from Software’s Souls series, but the action is that same 60fps brilliance so beloved of old school Team Ninja games. Think Ninja Gaiden with RPG systems and you’re pretty much there, and probably swooning a bit. It doesn’t really seem fair that PS4 players get this and Bloodborne as exclusives, but you can’t blame Koei Tecmo for wanting its precious baby to get the attention going Sony exclusive garners – or Sony for pouncing on the tempting offer.

There’s not much else standing in the way of Nioh’s success this week, although JRPG fans on PC should definitely check out the latest Atelier game, as well as Nights of Azure.

Speaking of PC, WWE 2K17 arrives on Steam, so that’s a thing.
