Bungie resets credits on 15K Halo: Reach cheaters

On top of announcing an earlier than expected playlist update (coming this Tuesday), Bungie revealed last night that it has reset the credits and ranks of "approximately" 15,000 Halo: Reach accounts. The studio also applied a one day credit earning ban on affected players, less for punishment than to "ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken."

The resets were handled last evening and specifically targeted folks who employed "an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via itentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects.)." Bungie will also be completing a "more comprehensive pass" later this week, after the studio is confident enough in its automated banning system.

yes i wasnt one of them but sadly i just do score attack which gives me a easy 1,000 to 2,000 credits every time

I hate tthis game compared to halo 3. I did the challenge glitch once....Ive been reset. All my work getting Up a good 10 levels legit for nothing. Why dont they remove the points that we earnt not reset us. Bit harsh. Well bungie just lost a customer

I agree with banning cheaters, but banning AFK people, quitters, and glitchers? MW2 may have had a lack of bans but atleast it wasn't ban crazy..

very corrupt modderators espically that ferrex douche bag instead of reseting people he could have restored previous ranks people did it from but the moderators on bungie are very corrupt and cannot handle their game just like mw2 this game will fall by next year and black ops will rise to much anticipation into this game and reseting players without hesitation is very inapprpriote indeed.
i wasn't reset if anybody wants to know i find it a disgrace for 15,000 people not wanting to play this game again
