Destiny 2 Features PS4 Exclusive Content Till Fall 2018

One of the many criticisms of Bungie’s Destiny is the year-long exclusive agreement with Sony for additional content. This resulted in the infamous exclusives from Year Two still not being released for Xbox One players.

Unfortunately, it looks like that trend is going to continue As per the Destiny 2 teaser (aka “Last Call”) on the official PlayStation channel, the sequel will have “Content exclusive until at least Fall 2018.” More details will be shared in the Summer which sounds like something for Sony’s E3 2017 press conference.

As for current Destiny players, Year Two and Rise of Iron content exclusive to PS4 will likely hit the Xbox One by this Fall. Whether anyone will still be on Destiny by then remains to be seen.

Destiny 2 is rumoured to be out on September 8th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on PS4-exclusive content? Let us know in the comments below.

Mitochondria Sony is edging on with the exclusiveness. I understand xbox had it first, but we were not pushing two year+ wait times. It was what for most games? A month? or two across most games? Not a year or two, that in my opinion is the bullshit.

Let's be honest here, Destiny isn't going to be a driving factor of Xbox losing players. Destiny was a huge disappointment, missing one meteor and a strike isn't going to make people hate xbox lol. The only exclusive in PS4 will probably be some dumb area and some strike, no big deal

I mean of course it was obvious Sony has a 10 year contract with Bungie spanning over 3 possible games and tons of DLC. It's not Bungie's fault blame Sony for trying to be the one publisher that thinks exclusives are still great for games.

I get why people would argue "Xbox had it before, it's only fair." That's totally valid. But I just don't want the exclusivity to continue.

I don't remember who said it, but it sits well in my mind: The exclusivity war should have stayed in the previous generation.

I think a lot of people either wish it didn't exist now, or they wish it didn't exist in the first place. Either way, at some point a lot of people didn't like the idea, and it doesn't really help anyone but the publishers, who get more money from exclusivity deals.
