Analyst: Black Ops to outsell Medal of Honor x 3

25% of U.S. consumers have spoken; this holiday will be all about Call of Duty: Black Ops. That’s according to Lazard Capital Markets’ latest survey in which 17% indicated interest in picking up EA’s Medal of Honor, a small number compared to the one aforementioned, but still not that far behind.

“Importantly, given the broader interest and timing with gift purchases, we expect Call of Duty will still sell at least 3x the number of units as Medal of Honor, although game reviews remain a key variable in determining core gamer interest,” said analyst Colin Sebastian, who believes the words of Activision when the publisher says Treyarch’s latest will break the current record, even though he’s not blind to Medal of Honor “gaining traction.”

Whether Black Ops sales break those of Modern Warfare 2‘s and abolishes Medal of Honor sales, dedicated gamers know better; quality always trumps quantity.

Both are good games in my opinion. Just my thought on it is that all those little kids are saving their money for black ops and thinking oh why spend it on something other than a game with COD infront of it.

I myself have medal of honor and I'm picking up black ops and medal of honor is a great game. the only reason black ops is selling more is because of the millions of 10 year olds that think mw2 is the greatest thing in the world.

1. Who says you can't buy/play both.
2. We can all agree Halo Reach is the same crap they sold us like 4 other times just now with jetpacks and usable stealth.
3. It will deffintely outsell Medal of Honor because Medal of Honor is always in the same timezone, same guns (most of the time) just different plots.
4. Call of Duty is going to sell for its name and because of the hype and press around it.

Obviously, Black ops is like a trilogy, Medal of honor is just old school, besides, the guns and story mode arent as good as Call Of Duty. Cheers :D

Jacob8hockey I hate how the majority of cod players only play/have MW2. Im not saying I don't like cod and i am getting Black ops but people annoy me when they say "Halo reach sucks ********, play cod its way better". And every single one of those people hasn't even played Halo. Its pisses me off, and I wouldn;t care if Black ops failed hard.


well 75% of the whole us only has MW2. Infinity ward made it a EC game for 5+ because its so easy to play. most of those kids hate halo because it has such a ridiculas game. I played MW2 for 2 months. hated it. sold it. and waited for a new game to come out. besides infinity ward sucks at making games now and they convince little kids into weed and porn.
