Not exactly. A new source indicates that we could very well be seeing a follow-up to the company’s cult classic Bully once the dust settles on its work with Red Dead Redemption 2.
A reputable GTA insider by the name of Yan2295 indicated in the GTA Forums that Rockstar’s next project would be the long-awaited follow-up to the school-based adventure, noting, “Bully 2 is indeed in development and is supposed to be the next game after RDR2.”
We’ve heard about a new Bully game for some time, but never got official confirmation, as that’s not really Rockstar Games’ thing until they’re ready to make it official. But back in 2009, composer Shawn Lee noted that he was hard at work on composing a score for the forthcoming sequel. Speaking with IGN, he noted, “Yes. It looks like I will be doing the soundtrack for Bully 2 in the not so distant future.”
That’s still not any sort of official confirmation, and, well, we simply won’t find out until Rockstar Games drops the final word for the game. But still, the idea of a Bully sequel has us excited, as we could possibly pay a visit to college this time around, causing havoc on campus and taking part in partying action while trying to get some form of education.
We’ll just take it as rumor for now, but the possibilities for Bully 2 are endless. For the time being, though, our attention is on Red Dead Redemption 2, as the game will no doubt get some kind of showcase at E3, being either during Microsoft’s Project Scorpio presentation, or perhaps during Sony’s. Heck, why not both?
If Bully 2 does become official, we’ll certainly let you know. Cross those fingers.
