There are a couple of anticipated multiplatform digital releases this week though. Check out rogue-like FPS Strafe and a more lighthearted basketball experience than 2K’s series via NBA Playgrounds.
On PS4, look for Birthdays: The Beginning, the new game from Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada. This ambitious life or maybe ecosystem creation and management sim is only the start of what Wada wants to do with the concept, so let’s hope it proves popular enough that he can pursue the rest of his ideas in later games.
Still on PS4, LocoRoco Remastered is worth a peek at. Often paired with Patapon, it’s an artifact of a sudden explosion of small creative projects from Japan Studios in the mid to late 2000’s. It’s a cheerful and clever puzzle platformer.
Switch gets another NeoGeo release but perhaps more importantly Minecraft arrives. Something for your commute if you’ve flogged Zelda already.
