Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2 officially announced

The first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode‘s second season will be available from July 11th, 2017, Telltale Games has announced.

The second season will continue Jesse’s story in a five-part, narrative-driven, episodic series. Players’ choices in the first season will carry over into season two, but this new season will be accessible to both returning fans and newcomers alike, according to the developer. The new series will also feature support for Telltale’s multiplayer ‘Crowd Play’ feature, which allows friends and family to help decide the direction of the story from any mobile device with an online connection.

Season 2 also features voice work from Patton Oswalt, Catherine Taber, Ashley Johnson, and Scott Porter, as well as cameos from Stampy Cat, stacyplays, and other personalities from the Minecraft community.

“Now that Jesse and the gang have vanquished the Wither Storm, saved the world, and become totally super famous heroes, life has gotten a bit more…complicated,” the season’s description reads. “With more responsibilities and less time for adventure, old friendships have started to fade – at least until Jesse’s hand gets stuck in a creepy gauntlet that belongs to an ancient underwater temple. Together with old pals and new comrades alike, Jesse embarks on a brand new journey filled with tough choices, good times, and at least one temperamental llama.”


Episode 1: Hero in Residence will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, iOS, and Android.

I never knew MC had a story mode, I never really got into the game but it's cool to see them continuing to add new things to the game.

I haven't actually looked into the story mode on Minecraft and I couldn't imagine it being much fun. I'm personally not sure if I would enjoy it as much as playing Survival mode with my friends or joining custom games.

I dunno I just can't see a story mode being that prominent, maybe for the people still playing minecraft to this day but after making like 3 worlds to your liking you just get bored of the same old same old, still great that they are supporting the game for those players though.

Seems like now they're just trying to keep the franchise alive. The base game is still relatively popular, I personally haven't had any interest in the whole story mode idea.

Never played the Season 1 story... In my mind the Seasons are unnecessary. The normal Mincraft is good enough, spend a lot of time for this game :)
