Xbox Scorpio just got 1GB more powerful

Xbox Scorpio, the new, more-powerful hardware revision of the Xbox One, has upped the ante, accoding to Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra.

Microsoft has made an adjustment to Xbox Scorpio developer kits – and presumably the final hardware build – to reduce the amount of RAM dedicated to system operations from 4GB to 3GB.

The total amount of RAM in the Xbox Scorpio hasn’t changed – it’s still 12GB – but developers can now draw on 9GB of it rather than 8GB.

As well as giving developers a little extra oomph to help them make their games smoother and prettier, the extra RAM will be a help to games which aren’t optimised to draw on all 9GB. The Xbox Scorpio will automatically leverage unused RAM as a cache, which should mean even old games produced before the hardware was announced will load faster.



Console war fans will no doubt be pleased to hear that the hardware will be even better than they anticipated; even before this adjustment, in terms of raw power the new Xbox our-performed the PS4 Pro, as Microsoft sneakily pointed out in its latest set of Xbox Scorpio teasers.

I, by no means, have a ton of cash laying around but why is it in this day and age when there is so much opportunity for money do people complain and moan about console prices? Get over it. Buy the console or don't but don't complain about the price. Take the money you were going to spend on that new phone and wow now you have the money to buy it, imagine that people!!!

Are you saying shouldn't have a family and working a minimum wage job? If so, lol, some people are fortunate to have a high paying job. Even if it isn't minimum wage, getting paid let's say $3,000 monthly, first you have to stretch that though the month to eat and live, secondly you have to pay bills.

Cause with 500 bucks you can get your self a starter gaming pc and that is well more worth it than a console.


The original Xbox One released at that price and millions of people bought it, and thats right after their horrible E3 and forced bundle of Kinect. $500 is a good price and well worth it for what you're getting. Plenty of people spend 1000s of dollars on PC I don't see why you think people wouldn't spend $500 on a Scorpio.

$500 -$600 is nothing for a Xbox One, the whole "you can build this for $500" some people don't like the hassle of building a pc or buying one... people like the easy gaming, theirs less hassle with console gaming. you can take it anywhere you go in a "Backpack" you try taking a entire PC in a "Backpack" no chance.
