Call of Duty WWII multiplayer revives controversial Black Ops mechanic

4.4
Call of Duty: WWII is committed to its “boots-on-the-ground” direction, but that doesn’t mean player mobility won’t be a little more advanced than previous World War II installments.

Developers were asked about player mobility during a recent Call of Duty E3 livestream. They confirmed that the slide found in more recent titles would not be returning, but—like Call of Duty: Black Ops—Call of Duty: WWII will feature a dive as a faster means of avoiding fire.

The same livestream revealed new details on the game’s Headquarters social space, War mode, and tank gameplay.

Call of Duty: WWII is slated to launch November 3rd on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

I prefer the diving mechanic. If you are sprinting forward, the dive offers a way to get into cover. The only people complaining about it are the ones that try 'dropshotting' and get their pretty 'cheaty' mechanic ruined for them.

Always like the diving mechanic. It has its positives and negatives but not really an issue that players should be concerned about returning.

Diving was never an issue to me if anything it made the game a bit more fun diving off buildings and such. I'm looking forward to diving.

As long as hit detection is spot on when I shoot a feg trying to dive to cover I won't mind.

That's just fine, diving has always been awesome to use. Diving behind cover is a realistic thing.

diving in black ops 2-- from my experience is a great tool that can be used as a mix-up option once it awhile, it's not broken in anyway and you can't shoot until you're prone, good work

That's great. It's realistic and people can and have done it. So, we should be able to!
