PS4 “is like a five-year-old PC,” says A Way Out developer

You can count on A Way Out, and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons director to shoot it to you straight.

Josef Fares, the lead at A Way Out developer Hazelight, is known for being passionate and direct. His presentation at EA’s E3 2017 showcase was one of the show’s highlights.

It’s easy to expect the creative lead to not beat around the bush when he’s trying to make a point then. Speaking to Engadget, Fares said that the power of PS4 isn’t really all that.

It’s not clear exactly what got him to talk about the power of the console, but he feels that consoles aren’t as powerful as they should. “You want the honest truth? This machine is not so strong as you think,” he said of the PS4 running the demo.

Yeah i think alot of people will now change playgorms to xbox one x, just due to how powerful the console is.

He's right. I'll be keeping my PS4 my mate's are on it but will be definetly investing in X1X. Much more powerful, PS4 is just for friends for me.

Sorry, this is far from true.. New Xbox one X, is just as powerful as any pc you could build under 1k, and you get a better bargain on the new Xbox.

The One X has a custom RX 580 in it at lower clocks but more CUs and higher memory bandwidth. An RX 580 is most definitely mid-range.

12GB of RAM, 6 tflop custom RX 580, 1TB hard drive and 320GB/s memory bandwidth, it's upper mid range without a doubt.
Most mid range PCs can't even run 4K.

its closer to a 6-7 year old PC. Its was behind the ball game when it was released. Can't even do 1080p 60fps.


Who told you this lie? It won't be 1080p 60fps every single game but to say they can't do it at all is demonstrably false.
