PlayerUnknown himself, Brendan Greene, tweeted a couple of screens of the new desert map. The screens feature some predictably dilapidated buildings, cacti and dying brush, a train, and random fires creating columns of smoke that could be useful as visual cover among the setting’s open, slightly hilly no man’s land.

As we previously reported, the desert map will be half the size of the original map, measured at 4 kilometers by 4 kilometers. A canyon, complete with a river, will run along the southern and eastern sides of the map, with hillside slums dotting the northern area.
The other map that’s been announced will be the same size as the original map and will be set on an island in the Adriatic Sea, formerly of Yugoslavia. The island will feature thick forests on the north side and Mediterranean coasts on the south, with a snowy mountain range dividing them in the middle of the map.
Hopefully, for Xbox One owners, the maps will be finished and included in its upcoming release on Microsoft’s console. The game may come to PS4 at some point, but nothing been’s decided yet. Meanwhile, PC gamers can play it now via Steam Early Access.
