In a report from VG24/7, one of the developers of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds confirmed during a livestream that an FOV slider is in the pipeline for the game’s monthly update in two weeks, which will provide players with a greater degree of control over the field-of-view available in-game. The developer confirmed during the stream that the option has been implemented internally, while the team is making adjustments for a wider release.
Along with an FOV slider, developer Brendan Greene (“PlayerUnknown”) also confirmed in a series of tweets that first-person only servers will also be coming to the title that will allow players to exclusively use the first-person view, which is also expected in the game’s next monthly update. Specifically, Greene stated that the first-person servers at launch will only be available in Solo and Duo games for North America and Europe, though “will expand to other regions” once the systems for it have been polished.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now for PC through Steam Early Access, while an Xbox One version of the game is also in development.
We will bring 1st person only to EU/NA SOLO & DUO games first, and once we have polished the system, we will expand to other regions.
