The major addition in this update is the introduction of the Prise de Tahure night map, the final map for the game’s They Shall Not Pass DLC. The map is available to all Premium Pass holders and owners of the They Shall Not Pass DLC. Non-Battlefield 1 Premium Pass owners will be able to access the map via Premium Friends or new Premium Trials feature.
“French raiders and German stormtroopers clash in an urban trench setting as the nights grow colder in the Champagne-Ardennes region,” the map’s description reads. “The frontline trench networks cut right through several villages facing obliteration from the constant skirmishing between German and French troops.”
As mentioned above, this update also sees the addition of Premium Trials, timed events that allow non-Battlefield 1 Premium Pass owners to play on DLC maps without having to own the corresponding DLC. DICE notes that Earning XP, spawning in vehicles released in the expansion, and progression/unlocks will be restricted to Premium Pass owners on these maps. This is similar to the Premium Friends feature that is already in the game, but Premium Trials doesn’t require players to party up with a Premium Pass owner.
Finally, the update adjusts the capture area of Flag D on Soissons in Frontlines to improve map balance, adjusts the Map Voting system to exclude the previous map, and makes it so players can no longer get on top of the fort around the courtyard area on Fort de Vaux.
