Battlegrounds August Update Adds First Person Servers

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has received its latest monthly update which adds a ton of changes and improvements to the battle royale-style survival game. The biggest new addition is that of first person servers wherein players can battle it out from that perspective alone.

The servers are available for solo and duo queues in North America and Europe. With the number of people who complained about the third person perspective allowing for “cheesing” in certain scenarios, this is a welcome addition.

An FOV slider for first person mode, a new V-Sync option, additional hot keys and features in the Options menu and a new Colorblind Mode. The update also adds support for Xbox controllers with more effort to be made to improve it in the coming days.

First person servers are probably so much fun! Can't wait to pick this game up.

Just got done playing some First Person Servers with my friend, here are my thoughts... First person servers are great. They eliminate the bullshit peeking over objects you have no business being able to look over, no more camping in a building and looking through a window/slit while you are hidden. You have to peek (taking the risk of being spotted yourself) to spot others. Another thing I have noticed a lot less of (hardly any of it going on at all), is laying down in the grass. Granted, you can still do this and be very hard to spot, also have a better chance of spotting than being spotted, but the tremendous advantages you got from doing this in third person is deafened. First person servers bring more skill to the game. It is much harder to spot and be spotted, much more fun all around in my opinion.

That's the whole point playing this sort of gamemode. I want to see DrDisRespectLIVE play this. XD


He'll probably get banned again because he'll get mad and kill another teammate.

I think this is a great idea for their game. I enjoy playing BG, but I dislike third person shooters in general. Looking forward to this new update, maybe will get me back into playing this.

First person would be even more intense IMO, you can't stand behind a wall and use 3rd person view to look out a window beside you. I ca't wait to play on them when I can.
