Call of Duty: WW2 microtransactions, COD Points, go live next week

4.1
COD Points, the microtransactions currency that’s been in every Call of Duty game in the last few years, will be implemented into Call of Duty: WW2 starting next week.

As is usually the case with Call of Duty titles, Activision tends to delay the microtransactions store until the launch spikes have died down a bit. Call of Duty: WW2 certainly had its share of server problems, but it looks like COD Points are on track for release next week.

COD Points are purchased using real-world money, and in Call of Duty: WW2, you’re able to use them to buy Rare Supply Drops. As we’ve detailed before, Supply Drops are just one of the ways you can earn vanity items in the game. These Rare Supply Drops can also be acquired by completing Orders and Contracts, or earned randomly through gameplay.

The Activision support site confirmed that COD Points go live beginning Tuesday, November 14 at 9am PT, 12pm ET, 5pm UK, 6pm CET. If you pre-ordered the game, you’re probably aware of the 1,100 COD Points points you received for free.

Much like the microtransactions store, these points will also appear in your account on the same day. As it currently stands, there are no stat-altering weapons as possible rewards in any of the multiplayer Supply Drop variants. This may change down the line, though.

The exchange rate has not yet been revealed, nor has Supply Drop prices as of yet.

Wasn't as bad as I had thought - at least as it's not p2w.

IMO micro-transactions ruin games, however, they do increase their income which allows them to invest more money into the future games.

Micro-transactions have their drawbacks but they do also allow for further development of the game.

I hate micro transactions but they are always going to be a thing now in every cod/game, It just doesn't feel like a good game or a cod anymore when those come out. Ruins the game but it is what it is I guess.

I can see why people don't like the microtransactions but I'm excited for them to come, more content makes the game more fun imo.

I don't mind it as long as it don't turn to pay to win where people can buy guns that are clearly op but we can't get them playing regularly and 9 times out of 10 will get rekt by their op weapon

Yay free skins lol. Not sure why everyone is so worried.

I noticed this says, "for free for free." In the 4th paragraph at the end.

I'm exited for this! Idk how people don't like micro transactions. I can see stuff that is pay to win. But for cool gear. I think it's awesome.

It's probably going to be 200-300 a rare drop.
