Ubisoft: new consoles will arrive in a “minimum of two years”

Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, does not anticipate seeing a PlayStation 5 or, uh, Xbox Two (Xbox Four?) until at least two years from now.

All the companies now are releasing their financial statistics for the first half of the fiscal year, including Ubisoft, who made a lot of money from the Switch. Talking in a call to investors (as reported by Gamespot). Guillemot also discussed the possibility of new consoles releasing down the track.

According to Guillemot, the internal expectation at Ubisoft is that new consoles are a minimum of two years away, or may take longer.

It will be 4 years minimum. It will take many years to make a more powerful console than Xbox One X for under $500.

There saying this but if they do what exactly is the point of it? We have the X for 4k and that's enough 5K most likely wont be standard for at least another 5-10 years because 4K ain't even standard yet... Just seems ubisoft are playing guessing games to me.

Sony might release a better version PS4 to keep up with the Xbox One X but a whole new console, I don't believe we will see that soon, at Least i hope not.

I think now is a good time to just sit back and let the money kind of roll in while they plan behind doors. There is no need to even really talk about a new console coming in 2 years. If I wanted to buy a new console every 2 years, I would stick with a PC with I can update every year for cheaper.

I suggest they don't even announce a console idea for 2 years, then release it in five or so.
