Warface is getting a Battle Royale mode

Warface, the free-to-play shooter from Crytek, is getting a new “experimental” Battle Royale mode.

The shooter, which has been running for several years now, is typically played on small maps of objective-based and TDM modes. In order for Battle Royale to work, you need a big map, which is what Crytek is working on.

The new, desert-themed map will be available in the game’s next update. It’s the largest PvP map in the game, according to the developer.

The blog post also detailed some of the other mechanics that will be available in the mode, and they all sound exactly like what you expect from a Battle Royale mode. Namely, a shrinking play space that gets randomly decided at the start of the match, random loot and so on.


The update will bring Battle Royale-specific achievements, but bizarrely, the mode will be available for a limited time. Crytek said it wants to hear player feedback first before the mode is released as a permanent addition later.

RepBandit I hope this brings life to this game. I think the way the battle royale games are going i can see this helping


Game has very few players but the ones that do play it have been for a long time and have a huge advantage over new players so it is a very hard game to start off since its P2W and is a time sink to get half of the good guns.


If that's how it actually is, this game will die back down within a week. No one wants to start brand new in a game already overran by P2W players. There's already so many games with Battle Royale modes that they won't have a hard time picking a different game.

This game was awesome on the 360, it's a shame they had to shut down the servers. But this might mean something's coming for the XB1 in the future

Battle royale is the new "zombie survival". Eventually, developers will over saturate this to death as well. Money is more important than original ideas and reputation to them.

They needed this, it was clear that this game was dying, would have been a waste to just let it all go.

Just look at battleborn, it died in 2 months trying to compete with overwatch. they even stopped updates and character releases.
