PUBG Xbox One patch adds first-person mode, fixes crashes

3.9
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has received a new patch on Xbox One that brings new features, and continues to smooth out frame-rate and stability.

The new PUBG patch’s highlight feature is the addition of first-person support, something that was absent from the console version since launch.

It’s only available in solo mode at present, but it’s a start. FPP servers will be deployed in North America, Europe, and Oceania. The update also improves client and server performance, as well as bring fixes to loads of crashes.

Finally, the patch added analogue stick acceleration when jumping out of the plane and while parachuting. This has been one of the worst feeling parts of the game due to the low frame-rate, and the fact that the sticks didn’t feature any acceleration.

The fix should make moving around much easier in free fall. Check out the full list of changes below:

Gameplay

  • Aim acceleration can now be adjusted by players via in-game option
  • Player weapon damage has been increased against vehicles. We will continue to monitor player feedback and telemetry and make further balancing adjustments as needed in future updates
  • FPP Solo matchmaking queue will be made available for NA/EU/and Oceanic servers. We will open other modes within those regions as concurrency allows
  • Fixed an issue that caused indoor lighting and shadows to appear too dark and blueish
  • Analog stick acceleration added while exiting the plane and while parachuting

Optimisation

  • PhysX performance enhancements
  • Server FPS slightly increased
  • Client FPS slightly increased
  • Some VFX received slight optimisations

Option

  • Music on/off option added

Bug fixes

  • Addressed a number of known crashes
  • Fixed a UI issue that occurred when multiple players attempted to loot from the same source

first-person mode is literally the only thing I can play. 3rd person just really is too stupid and gets me going. also glad to see the music on/off has been added.

Shouldn't have launched without but glad they updated the game to add it. Such a key play style to not have.

The updates keep making the game better and better. I enjoy it much more than Fortnite.

I have not seen anyone play PUBG in first-person. I did not know that this was a thing. But that is awesome! I, among others, am glad they are adding and working constantly on this game!

I didn't think it would be to good on consoles but it seems like they are working their ass off to make it run smoothly so more people get it

it seems so much nicer to play now, much easier too. Wondering when they will fix the 100% win glitch

Gave this go, I won't lie it feels so much more smooth, game runs better, my shots actually hit I don't feel like a floppy tomato and the crashes have been reduced alot, did not crash at all. then again I never really did before either.

I really hope this helps crashes, it just really ruins the game with it.
