Monster Hunter World ships 5 million copies worldwide

Monster Hunter World has shifted 5 million units in its first three days on sale.

Capcom announced the 5 million figure today, a massive success for a Monster Hunter game in the West. Shipped figures often mean sold to retailers, meaning we have no way of knowing how many were actually bought by customers.

However, Capcom also included digital sales in this figure, which isn’t something that typically gets reported alongside shipped.

Regardless, it’s still very impressive for Monster Hunter World, particularly because Capcom was hoping this would be the game to rope in Western fans. The buzz, at least as far as reviews and word of mouth go, seems to be very positive so far.

I bought the game, played it for about 7 minutes ill say. Called up customer support and got that refund right away. games not even close to what I thought it was. But odd to see only 5 million shipped in its first 3 days, thought it was hyped a little more.

That's a lot of copies of the game. The trailer does make this game look wicked fun and insane to play. Pretty excited to see some more gameplay before I buy it.

Honestly this is impressive, although kinda expected as everyone was talking about it, let me be the first to say it on here, It's a great game and I love playing it! :)
