Microsoft gave Geohot money to fight Sony, rumor claims

A new rumor has surfaced that Microsoft donated a large amount of cash to Geohot as he attempts to tackle Sony over the hacking of the PS3. This is very much just a rumor. However, it comes from one of those supposed 'clouse sources' who must remain anonymous. Although, the fact that Geohot got all that he wanted and more within 2 days, seems to suggest that he had some pretty big donations and quickly! In his most recent interview, Geohot himself seemed in very good spirits and revealed he got all that he needed to cover his legal costs and more. So what do you think, did MS really sneakily throw him a heft amount of cash?

and i know that the jailbreak is the same thing as the Jtag but the jtag is harder ,

Geohot had full Hypervisor level access.
No one has ever had FULL Hypervisor access on a 360.

I would pay him if I was Microsoft. Only because Sony took this situation so babyish. Microsoft didnt sue anyone for the Jtag exploit. Microsoft stoped us jtaggers and fixed there sicurity problems. On the other hand, Sony thinks fixing the problem is by suing. Wow Sony you need to take a role like Microsoft and grow up like Microsoft. This is society and Sony your just big babys. Your actions of suing just makes me want to hack and mod your system 100000000 times more.

If it is true, then it would be a very good way for microsoft to raise the middle finger at the quickly declining sony. But somehow I don't see microsoft being this... low.. I could see them giving him the silent show of support but to actually give him money.. I don't see that coming from a multi-billion dollar company.
