Fortnite passes PUBG with 3.4 million concurrent players

Fortnite hit a new peak of 3.4 million concurrent players on Sunday, February 4 and the load caused major service disruptions.


So many players logged into Fortnite over the February 3-4 weekend it crashed the servers.

Before the outages, the game hit a peak concurrent user record of 3.4 million players.

Epic Games posted an update on the Fortnite website to share technical details about the challenges of having to “rapidly scale” a game and its online services, which are far beyond its “wildest growth expectations.”

According to Epic, the extreme load of players caused six different incidents over the two-day period resulting in a mix of partial and total service disruptions.

This is it entirely. The only reason Fortnite is popular is because it's free. Slap the same price on Fortnite as pubg and no one would play it. It's fun game but it wouldn't do good at all if there was a cost.


You seem butthurt because more people are currently on fortnite than pubg. Nods head.

Sure a lot more casual gamers play fortnite, but as much as I do pubg is a desync nightmare.

Not surprised as it is a free game, I'm actually surprised that it's taken this long to pass PUBG. Both games are great and are very uniquely different. For everyone hating on one game and praising another, grow up. Both games are awesome. In 2 months you most likely will be playing the one your hating on and be hating on the one you were praising.

Yeah i agree that's pretty obvious. Both games are great and have there own unique aspects.

Only reason it's this popular is because of the price; free. Of course there is paid copies but how many of those actually sold compared to PUBG? A very small amount.
