Battlefield 2018 – More Evidence Suggests It Will Be Set During WW2

There have been quite a few reports in recent weeks that the next Battlefield, which EA have confirmed will launch in October of 2018, will be set during the Second World War. And now there seems to be more possible evidence to suggest the same. This comes in form of an artist who has worked for DICE in the past, and some weapon design concept art they have drawn up.

One former DICE employee, Peter Olofsson Hermanrud, who now works for Bungie, posted a portfolio on ArtStation about a year ago, portraying several weapons that had nothing to do either with Battlefield 1, or its World War I setting. One such weapon was PPSh-41, which, apparently, was used quite commonly during the Second World War.

None of this is official confirmation that the next Battlefield will take place during WW2 era so take this report with a grain of salt. EA are going to reveal more proper details on Battlefield 2018 soon enough, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for continued coverage on the same.

I'm liking this whole theme as a World War aspect towards this. Hoping this game wont die off too quickly like the others.

Dragon Wow. We literally just had WW2 with Call of Duty. Why would you bring out another game set in WW2? It needs to go back to like Battlefield 3, but updated. That is a game I would play.


Battlefield 4 was battlefield 3 but updated lol. But I agree with ww2 being repetitive.


Call of Duty vs Battlefield are completely different. I would love a ww2 battlefield.. It feels 100x different and 100x better than any call of duty. It would make sense, since they just had ww1 there are going up the timeline.

Battlefield 4 was battlefield 3 but updated lol. But I agree with ww2 being repetitive.

Wwii Battlefield will just be awesome. None of this cod shit that about as accurate as stevie wonder in a shooting range.

I was hoping for modern, but there's so much they can do with WW2 compared to WW1. Regardless, I'm still super excited!

Cent I definitely won't be buying. I hated BF1 I want something like BF4 again, that game was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot. Hope this isn't a for sure thing.


It's starting to get a bit repetitive if they keep making these world war games too
