Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Receives Massive Free Update and New Trailer

Even with the new Dragon Ball FighterZ doing well after a very recent release, Bandai Namco still decided to offer a massive update for its older 3D-fighter, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Not only does the update offer up a plethora of joy, it is also free of charge for those with the base game. Alongside this free update, the DLC Extra Pack #2 adding extra characters is available for purchase.

In the free update, Limit Burst and other Battle Techniques, such as Flash Revive (trade your own HP to bring others back to the fight) have been added to the game. New SSGSS transformations and a new Awoken Skill are now part of the gameplay as well. Not only that, but a 2v2 online mode and other online events were teased with the update and should be “coming soon.”

Partner Customization has been added with the ability to add partnerships with your masters after raising their friendship levels. This also unlocks combined combos and techniques with these masters. Players can also change the looks and appearances of these new partners they choose to pair with.

There is much content with this free update, but even more can be acquired with the purchase of Extra Pack #2 for $16.99. Android 17, Jiren, Fu, and Ultra Instinct Goku are included as playable characters in this DLC package.

The update for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Check out the new trailer, below:

If it's paid it better be worth it imo. Dropping paid updates would be weird.

Wont happen, it would kill any game not matter how large or popular it is.

A great and huge update though for sure. Really nothing im too interested in though but still something worth jumping on and trying.


It even says it for free, or do you mean the next future update(s)? As for the 2v2(3v3) go i think it's always been wanted in DBZ, still need to get myself s Copy. I also think that extra content can rarely go wrong for Capcom. However, they seem to be constantly raising prices for Characters each time I look.

Not a fan of these games but excited for all those who are!


It's a fantastic game, was going to get xenoverse 2, but it's a difficult choice. Both are updated regularly with no additions. But both have a fairly hefty price tag.
